What does 🌑 new moon mean?

The new moon emoji represents the lunar phase when the moon is between Earth and the Sun, leaving its Earth-facing side in shadow. It is often used in discussions about astronomy, stargazing, or tracking the lunar cycle. Depending on context, it can also simply signify a very dark night or a lack of moonlight.

Often used for

Discussing the lunar cycle or moon phases
Talking about stargazing or astronomy
Describing a very dark or pitch-black night
Pairing with other space or nature emojis for aesthetic posts

Tone: Generally neutral and informational. It can sometimes be confused with the black circle emoji (⚫) or the new moon face (🌚), so context is helpful if referring specifically to the lunar phase.
